ON THE BIKE: Istanbul

If you can, avoid it.

One reason could be because Turks drives like crazy monkeys (no kidding: when you’ll arrive at the toll-house in Istanbul you’ll see things beyond reality).
Another reason could be because roads are as smooth as mirrors (I’m sure there must be a reason if all motorcyclist wear n-pads..).
Maybe it’s because all oneway roads have spikes instead of no-through signs.
that it took us 1 hour to cover what by walk we could have done in 10 minutes.
Or maybe it’s because of traffic jams so entangled
Another reason again could be because everyone advised us against leave the bike on the street at night.

Probably it’s thanks to all those reasons put together, but I parked the motorbike the first day and never moved it after.
If you need a cheap 24/7 attended carpark: otopark behind the Tarlabaşı stadium (20TL per week).
If you need a good repair shop: ATA moto.
If you need motorcycle wear: MOTOMAX discount.

MAP

Without the navigator: to go from the end of the highway to the center of town almost 4 hours. To go out of Istanbul one full day (we got lost so many times that we had to find a place to sleep for the night in the Asian part).

WARNING: bridges between Europe and Asia are toll bridges (3TL, with the KGS prepaid card, NO CASH!)

[Change: 10TL = 4€]
